Short Notes on Nature Singapore

30 April 2017 | Nature Macro Photography | Nature in Pots |

After much hesitation over the years, I finally decided to give macro photography a shot. The main motivation being the ability to observe minute details of organisms such as mosses found in my pots. The new camera equipment arrived in January consisted of an Olympus OM-D E-M10 II and an Olympus M.Zuiko ED 60mm Macro lens. This was considered a significant investment. I played with the new toys sporadically over the last few weekends but had yet to explore its full potential. So far, pictures were taken using the fully automatic mode and the camera's in-build flash. The pictures shown in this post were some selected maiden shots taken at my balcony area on last Saturday.

Hopefully, I will find some time to learn and harness the full capability of the camera equipment. Based on the assessment of the output so far, 2 additional gadgets may be necessary --- a tripod and an external flash to obtain better quality pictures as well as to take pictures in low light condition.
